A haemangioma is a benign tangle of blood vessels formed by small vessels coming together in the liver. It is not cancer and does not turn into cancer.
It usually causes no symptoms and needs no treatment. For haemangiomas with a typical appearance, regular follow-up is often not needed either.
It is recommended that you see a gastroenterologist with your ultrasound report. Your doctor will decide, from the haemangioma’s size and imaging features, whether further tests or follow-up are needed.
