What this site is
This site is the patient information written by Prof. Ali Tüzün İnce, MD. It is written about digestive system conditions and endoscopic procedures, so that a patient can better understand their own situation.
The site also holds an archive of material prepared for Kadıköy Endoscopy Center. The center closed on 19 July 2011 and admits no patients. This is not the site of a hospital, a clinic or a medical center.
This site does not replace a consultation
Nothing written here makes a diagnosis, starts a treatment, recommends a medicine, or constitutes medical advice for you. Every patient’s history and findings differ; the right diagnosis and treatment are determined by a physician’s assessment, not by information found online.
If you have a complaint, see a physician. In an emergency call the emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department.
Acting on what you read here
These texts are general information. A decision about your own case — starting a medicine, stopping it, changing the dose, having a test or not having it — can only be made together with a physician who has seen you. The site cannot be held responsible for the consequences of decisions you take alone on the strength of a page here.
How current the material is
The content is reviewed and updated; the date of the last update is at the bottom of every page. Medical knowledge changes over time — an older page may not reflect current practice.
No physician–patient relationship is formed
Reading these pages, filling in the contact form or sending an email does not create a physician–patient relationship. That relationship begins with a consultation. The form and the address on the contact page do not book appointments; appointments are arranged through the official channels of the institution where he works.
Images and text
The endoscopic images come from the archive of Kadıköy Endoscopy Center and contain nothing that could identify a patient. The rights in the texts, drawings and images belong to Prof. Ali Tüzün İnce, MD; they may not be reproduced without attribution or used commercially.
A patient may print the page about their own condition and bring it to the consultation — the pages are designed for that, and that use is free.
