Internal haemorrhoids are enlarged cushions of blood vessels inside the back passage. They are not cancer.
They can cause bright red bleeding from the back passage or a swelling that comes out.
Avoiding constipation, eating plenty of fibre, drinking enough water and not straining on the toilet for long are recommended. If the bleeding or symptoms continue, see a doctor.
